During the Global Entrepreneurship Week, 2030 Builders in collaboration with CSE will be hosting and organising a panel debate and discussion centered around the topic of sustainability and young talent.

The event will take place on Monday November 4 from 5 to 6:30 pm. We look forward to welcoming you at Solbjerg Plads campus at CBS, SP210 GN Auditoriet.

Event description:

Millennials and Generation Z care more about the environment and the social consciousness of businesses than older generations. They want jobs that have a ‘purpose’ and as consumers are willing to pay more for sustainable products. Surveys even indicate that 75% of millennials are prepared to be paid less in order to work for a company that is in line with their values.
Not surprisingly, sustainability-related programmes offered by higher education institutions are on the rise and increasing in popularity. At the same time, some studies indicate that businesses that incorporate sustainable practices attract and retain more talent.

All of the above begs the question:

“How can the ‘sustainability’ and ‘job with a purpose’ needs of young job seekers be aligned with what companies are looking for in young professionals (and their sustainability teams)?”

During the panel discussion and questions from our moderator and the audience, we aim to shed light on this topic and hope to answer this - and related - questions.

The overarching goal of this event is to:

Give young professionals, students, and recent graduates a better idea of what companies want regarding sustainability positions

Provide an opportunity to network for young talent and attending companies

Spark a discussion around the fact that millennials are purpose driven and are looking for jobs that have a ‘meaningful’ impact.

The panel debate will last around 1.5 hours and includes panelist presentations. We will put a strong focus on moderator-curated and audience questions. We are currently organising to put together an interesting panel of professionals with various backgrounds - ranging from HR, large consultancies, and leading organisations on sustainability and climate action.

Who should attend?
Anyone interested is welcome to attend! We are primarily targeting an audience of:
Young professionals, students, and recent graduates - all with an interest in sustainability or an academic background in sustainability.
HR managers and companies who want to gauge what the youngest generation of job seekers are looking for in their careers and how to recruit and retain this talent.

If you have any questions about the event or would like to contribute, please reach out to Maggie Coster at 2030 Builders (email: maggie@2030.builders).
